Counts Dropping

Last week, I have my blood counts drawn. My white blood count and neutrophil counts have dropped. The symptoms that I have been experiencing are due to the low levels. My body has always done fairly well with Neutropenia until recently. Now, it seems I will have to put up with the symptoms that come and go-sore throats, muscle pains, etc. I have had low grade fevers each day for several months.

My doctor says I need to relax and take it easy when I do not feel well. I understand-but this is difficult for me. Not only do I have 2 kids-6 and 8-but I have such drive to get ahead at work that being satisfied with my current work is hard for me to do. I will try to learn! Really! I am thankful for what I have-I know things could be worse. And, I know I need to keep myself healthy. We'll see how it goes. However, in reality-I think I'm in denial.

My counts have dropped over the last couple years-and I am worried they will continue to fall. I sometimes wonder when it hit-when will I get sick-and will I ever feel healthy again?

Soon to Be Sick or Not?

The last 5 days for so, I have not felt very good. I have had symptoms that have come and go-sore throat, fever, stomachaches, chest pain (lung), headaches, and muscle pain. My muscle pain has felt like my muscles were being wrung like a towel when wet. My body was so fatigued on Sunday, I only got out of bed a couple times to get fluids. And, when I did that-I was exhausted for awhile.

My son recently recovered from pneumonia. Not sure if my body is trying to fight off germs that I acquired or if it's something else.

I hate the feeling of your body having aches and pains each day-and not knowing if it will go away or if it will manifest into something else.

Just wanting to vent. I get my counts done in the morning and we will see if they have changed any.

Good Day

Today was a good day. I was super tired this morning-but pushed through it-and it was a good day overall. I did exercise and spend time outside-it was beautiful outside today-near 70s. I didn't have any pain/weakness in my legs/arms today-Yahoo!

My mom found my health records from years ago. I am glad she found them so I can read through them.
Take care,
Kat

Body Tired

Today, my body is tired. It wasn't that bad in the morning and afternoon. But, by evening, my body just feels so tired. Not a tired that will go away with sleep-but overall feeling of weakness. The muscles in my legs feel like lead, weighing me down. At least that is all it is today. Some days, my whole body feels like it is being weighted down. Today, just the legs.

Last summer, I went through lots of testing because I had such pain/weakness in my arms and legs. The specialists were so worried about my immune system-that every blood test imaginable was done. In November-yes months later-I wasn't feeling any better so, my regular doctor decided to do a test to check on a vitamin D deficiency-and lo and behold, it was low. So, I take Vitamin D regularly to help with that. It helped with the pain/weakness in my arms & legs.

However, I still do have a general fatigue/weakness/pain in my legs (sometimes arms too) that affects me from time to time. I assume it is part of the neutropenia and I try to get through the day with it.

Good night.

Starting a Blog

Hi there,

Today, I started a blog. I have been thinking about starting a blog about my journey with Neutropenia for some time in hopes that it might help me as well as others who may be struggling with Neutropenia or other chronic illness. So, here we go!

The last couple months, I have issues with chronic mouth sores, sore throat, fatigue-the kind that doesn't get better with sleep, and bone pain. I do have fevers a couple times a week.

Thanks for sharing in the beginning,

Kat
