Getting over Infection

Hi there,

This past week, I have been resting to get over a lung infection. It's tolerable but can be pretty painful at times. In addition, I have a sore throat but that has been pretty mild in comparison. My neutrophil counts are still pretty low (0.4 was the last checked) so I am not taking any antibiotics as they can decrease the counts even more.

My bone pain has increased this week as well. I assume from the impending infection. So, I have been taking my pain meds. I have been good about resting this week to allow my body to heal. And, taking my vitamins! The good ones! I would love to be working in my garden-but trying to be good about staying away from things that 'can be' harmful.

After this week's doctor's visit, I was a little disheartened and irritated with Neutropenia. I understand that I should not have the injections until I 'really' need them because they only work for about 24 hours for me-but the fact that antibiotics have been put into that category as well threw me for a loop. I have been talked to about Neutropenia getting worse for me but, I have never wanted to believe it. I have such drive. I want to go places! And, I really want to make a difference.

I hope that this blog helps others with Neutropenia. Please feel free to send a message. I am hoping I can help out in others ways too-educate others, advocate, write, etc. Working on things and we'll see what happens.

Hope you are all doing well! Take care of yourselves.

Kat
